A6 C5 Avant - flase brake warning and beeper fix
Hi Folks
Just posting this here in case someone has the same issue. I recently had a problem with the bulb warning light and beeper going off but all the bulbs working. Driving the car suggested it was related to activation of the brakes. I cleaned the bulb holder, bulbs and in fact changed the bulbs but to no avail. My mechanic thought it might have been the high level brake light which has a couple of failed LEDs, but I traced the fault to brake switch.
My car is a 2003 model. The original part number shown was 3B0 945 511 A (Delphi part) but I selected a Febi replacement 104351 for ~£9 as of Oct2023.
Requires removal of the small trim above the steering wheel (clips in/out), fuse box cover and under dash panel (5x8mm bolts) to access the switch
Easy to fit - push and twist in the bracket
Annoying beeping banished! Hope this helps someone in future
