Default A6 Warning Beep Volume

Guys

I have a current A6 saloon and wondered if its possible to disable the very loud and annoying warning beep or maybe just turn it down. The car beeps very loudly when anything possible needs topped up. Did Audi want to deliberately annoy their customers with infuriating beeps every time the fuel/oil/washer/brake fluid was low or when a bulb went or a service was needed?

I can read, the dashboard has a big sign telling me of the above. I don't need a loud beep to annoy the hell out of me. This is a car, not a space ship.

Its going in to the stealer soon for a service and I wondered if it was possible to disable this and if so I will ask them to do it.

Thanks

Yes. This equals money for them! There are no settings for the loudness of the beep so you pretty much have to live with it, or better yet - fix anything that's wrong.

But if you give more specifics on your year/model, and what actually is coming up on the display maybe we could offer you more information on how to make it less annoying (eg. fixing your problems).

Thanks for your reply.

I have a 2006 A6 S-line. I will sort the warning for the due service and the bulb in the brake light soon more importantly whenever the petrol gets low the beep goes off and its blooming annoying. I can see the petrol gauge I dont need beeped at

Also I hate the fact that if you drive with no seatbelt on for any distance (say in a car park for example) then put it on - the beeps dont stop - they continue until you turn off the ignition and back on again. Whats that all about?

Can I get rid of all the beeps? I dont need them!

Thanks

The seatbelt beep can be disabled quite easy with VAG-com...

I think the warning beeps can be coded away aswell, but i don't know how...

It annoys me to, so i might try some different codings later today...

I couldn't find anything except a complete disable og the washer fluid warning, but that's not a solution to me....

I will keep looking, but it seems like we will have to destroy the speaker, which is soldered on the back of the instrument cluster

dont know if this will be much help to you, but i read that a guy with a similiar problem changed the speaker that makes the annoying sound to a more agreeable/quieter one, maybe thats an option for you.

It cannot be coded away

It seems like the only option is to modify the speaker itself....

Thanks for investigating, I cant see me pulling out the dash to disconnect the speaker but perhaps when my phone kit is being installed I might mention it to see if the installer is going anywhere near the speaker.
