Adjustment on higher mileage Steering Rack?
Hello All,
Can the Steering Rack on my 2006 A6 Avant be adjusted for more precise handling? This is my daily driver with higher mileage (165K). I just rebuilt the front suspension ( 8 new control arms, both wheel bearings, complete L & R tire-rod assemblies ). My local Audi dealer performed the post rebuild 4-wheel alignment.
If it can be adjusted, can the adjustment be performed without removing the rack from the car? Any special tools required to perform this adjustment?
Symptoms:
* Very vague on-center feel
* Car wanders and hunts regardless where you point it.
* Front tire wear is perfect, even 8k miles after the suspension rebuild.
Thank you
