You mean these cars do not have a dipstick for checking (we have had ours for a year and have not noticed) I will be out tomorrow in the light and verify this.

Incedently how does one know when you are low on fluid, just guess ?

 

well i know the older ones like mine don't have a dipstick, don't know about your 2005.
you hope you or your service tech notices a trans leak when you do your oil changes i guess........

 

A6 2.8L 2000
i thought about getting the fluid changed at 90k, now at 105k the torque converter went. they said the tran. filter was severly clogged and oil looking pretty bad also. now i wish i had followed the advice that i saw on this forum and elsewhere about changing the fluid.
there is a shop in NJ that specializes in changing out the torque converter cuz it goes bad on so many audi. the also sell torque converters, i haven't called them yet to find out if they are new or remanufactured.

if you keep having problems with the car and you dont know how to get rid of it u can basically just call one of those car removal services and you would be surprised what u can get for it. they bought my old audi and was extremely happy with the offer. i let mine go to these guys
