Default Balance or Bearing issue??

2002 A6 with a rhythmic vibration seems to be in rear. Car drives fine there is no clicking when turning, tracks straight as an arrowm but I can feel the vibration very subtle at low speed but frequency speeds up with acceleration. No uneven wear on tires or damage to rims that I can see. I am going to have the tires rotated and balanced to start. Engine is smooth. Car has 76,000 miles. Any similar experiences?

Sounds like a wheel balance issue to me.

I have vibration issues too. In my situation it has to be the wheel balance. I cant tell if the wheels are worn unevenly or if there is a bump or anything, but I moved my wheels around and the vibrations change. I know at least 3 of the 5 wheels I have are out of round or just balanced wayy off even though I had them balanced twice. I'd recommend new tires with road force balancign and an Audi Dealer wheel alignment. That is what I am doing.

While it is extremely rare, I have heard of cases where a tire can slowly shift itself around a wheel, especially under hard braking, thus gradually changing the balance characteristics of the tire and wheel combination. Rebalancing simply cures the vibration problem for a few weeks before it slowly starts becoming annoying once again.

not rare on the 99-04 grand am gt, the original eagle rsa tires spun like crazy on those stock rims. It was crazy, but it was the tires, not the rims. tried yokohama and had 0 problems. but then again, the rims were like aluminum foil, hit a bump= get a nice dent. I had to shop on ebay every year for replacement rims all the time.
