Default Cam seal and Barsleaks rear main seal additive

I don't have the money right now to have my cam seals replaced on my 97 a6 quattro wagon... so I figured for 10.00 I'd try the Barsleaks oil additive.. I drove it 100 miles like they said and there is far less seepage.. it may even be stopped.. I can't tell without cleaning the engine.. which I'm not going to do.. I'll add more info in a week.. this stuff is supposed to restore seals not fill cracks.. so it shouldnt really damage anything I'm thinking.... so far I definitely have far less burning going on.. Has anyone else tried this stuff?

I tried Bardhal stop-leak in the past in a GMC Safari van and it reduced the leaks for a while, indeed. However, I never used it again after that.
In retrospect though and in all fairness, that engine was shot and I knew nothing about fixing cars at the time.

The chemical agent suppose to restore the seals pliability, so I doubt you'd damage anything. If you noticed instant improvement, then it means it's working.

Just be weary of all that oil that ends up on your timing belt over time...
