catalytic converter again
so after finally replacing my passenger side converter, the driver's side goes bad. This time I've learned my lesson and will go with a universal fit one. I'm just wondering which one I should buy. Should I buy one with an oxygen sensor port, and if so in what position:
for example would this one work,

If I don't need the oxygen sensor port, would this work:

help me save some money,
thanks

Why don't you check for the problems which cause the catalytic converters to go bad? Perhaps you have fouled or improperly gapped spark plugs. So, pull one spark plug out at a time and record its gap, condition and clyinder number. You may find that one or more spark plugs are fouled. You could have poor ignition or fuel injection. You could also have a bad head gasket or valve stem seals.
If you don't fix the cause, then it will happen again a few months latter. A head gasket kit is cheaper than replacing both catalytic converters.

I was only getting codes for the bad cat, first it was bank 1, and now it's bank 2. I did get some cylinder misfires, but this went away once I replaced my the faulty cat

I'm going through the same thing right now man. I'm actually going to buy universal cats and weld them myself in the next week or so. My buddy just bought a welder that puts mine to shame (can't think of a better reason to test it out!)
