Central Locking

Ok, so my Auto locking system just stopped working and i have no idea why.
It is to erratic to be the same thing. Its happens without any warning or having anything done to force a malfunction. Any ideas people?

Which year, A6? Which engine? Do you have VAG-COM?

2003 A6, 3.0L Quattro and no i do not have VagCom. Like i said this thing happens once in a while and then works again somehow.
