Oddly enough, I don't think this issue is related to the Audi brand. I replaced two different batteries in two Toyotas last night, and the exact same thing happened to both.
They started up nicely, but it felt like one of the cylinders was fouled up. After driving it to work (30 minute drive) it didn't have the same "sluggish" feeling as it did when I replaced the battery initially. I guess I'll have to check it at lunch to see if the issue remedied itself.
The weird thing is that I've replace easily 10 batteries in the cars I've owned, and this has never happened. Then all of a sudden it happens to two cars in one day.
That’s just weird.

Disconnec the battery again. Wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery. Turn the key to ON position without starting the car. Wait 3 to 5 minutes for the throttle body to recalibrate. You should hear the throttle body motor doing its thing.

Hopefully this helps.
