Complete loss of power on fast left hand turns
In my 1998 A6 2.4 V6 Tiptronic, during and afterall fast left hand turns the car loses all engine power for around 10 seconds, then goes back to normal power. There are no warning lights, no errors in my VAG-COM reading. I notice some quiet 'pinking' sounds with the windows rolled down, but couldn't place them accurately. There is no problems on right handers or accelerating / decellerating ina straight line.
Any ideas? I am completely lost for suggestions.

I had the same kind of problem with my VW camper van, so take it as you will. I had a leak in the air intake system near the throttle body. Look for things in the air intake that can flex while cornering and create an air inlet that the car does not expect. Also another culpret may be grounding/connectors. I would check all the connectors you can get to (pull em apart and clean them) as these get corroded and may lose signal with a little bit of movement.
The electrics work fine, its the engine that loses (all) power. Its feels like the engine has been switched off for 10 secs, then starts again.
I will take a look at the grounding and inlets, thanks for the suggestions.

The problem was that the rear tyres were a slightly larger radius than the front ones, so it confused the traction control and told the car to kill the power. Put correct rear tyres on and the problem is fixed.
