Question couple questions

i currently have a b5 2.8... but im wanting something a lil nicer/bigger so ive been looking at the a6 (c6 i think) late 90's early 2000's ive noticed a lot of ads all say tranny problems and i havent seen any manual tranny either... is this common? tranny problem? whast about 5 speed.. did they even offer it lol... and any other issues would be cool too... besides from the norm like TB and all that crap

I believe you are referring to C5. C6 is 2004 and up I believe... As for the tranny problem, it usually pertains to 4.2 V8. And yes 2.7Ts have some issues, but 2.8 is pretty good on tranny.

As for the car itself, it should be pretty similar to your B5 2.8. The drive train is pretty much the same and has pretty much the same issues. TB, thermostat, valve covers, cam seals, and etc...

You should be able to find 5 speed manual especially with 2.7T. There are rare but are around.

well i was trying to stick with the 2.8, mainly because the cost of turbo maintenance cars is insane lol... but looking around it seems the only 5 speed models came on the 2.7? kinda bums me out.. but its good to know that there arent many problems compared to the b5... kinda makes my decision to buy one a lil easier
