Door latch question

I have an 01 allroad and the driver front door doesn't close all they way unless you're extremely gently with it. My buddy has an 03 A6 3.0 Avant that he's parting out. Would the door latch work for my allroad?

Yes, but you could probably adjust yours to work. Just move the striker around a little.
