Default Help! Auto-Transmission Gear not Engaging

Hi, I have a 1998 A6 that won't go into gear after a serious water damage. The car has the following abnormalities:

1. The parking light on the shifter lights up only when the gear-lever is on neutral, never on “Park” position.
2. The tranny does not in engage when in drive “D”, nor does it engage in any other position for that matter.
3. I can only start it when in neutral position.

I have so far replaced the following parts:

1. TCU (the original was completed rusted)
2. Brake light switch
3. Shifter-lock solenoid
4. Replaced the Shifter Selector Circuit-board

I would appreciate if someone could look at my VAG log and give me some advice.

Thanks Much!

"Terminal 30 is the (+) terminal on the starter motor. It's what the (+) lead of the battery is connected to. When you disconnect the battery or it goes dead, the ECU senses that the voltage going to the starter is too low and logs the code." VgRt6

So you should be able to ignore/clear all the terminal 30 codes.

"Terminal 15 is "Switched Positive Voltage B+ from ignition / starter switch"" k harley

Again, could have been set from battery disconnect. But to be sure, I would remove all battery cables and clean them. Also disconnect your starter cables and clean them as well. Sounds like they could be really corroded from all the water damage you sustained.

Did you replace the TCM/U with the correct compatible year make? None of the codes listed should cause your car not to move.

Thanks

The TCM has the right part number (4B0 927 156G), so as far as I know, it came from the right car. The shifter selector-circuit-board was purchased from Shokan.com, but have to take their word that it came from an A6.

The thing is, I am getting no gear engagement from either D to "reverse". Could it be the selector-circuit-board is not working?

Also, according to Ross-tech, the error code 01236 - Shift Selector Locking Solenoid (N110): Open or Short to Ground indicates that Wiring/Connectors from/to Shift Selector Locking Solenoid needs to be checked and Repaired. Can a non-functioning Locking Solenoid cause the gears not to engage?

Also, the brake light on the shifter (the step-on-the-brake to shift out of parking light) lights up only on neutral position, but not when in "park" position. Does this indicate something?
