Hello. I have a 2003 A6 3.0. My driver side brake light has gone out. Anyone have instructions on how to replace. I searched the board and found instructions for an A6 avant but not the 3.0. I don't need to go to the dealer for this do I? thanks....

 

Removing and installing rear light



Removing



–
Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.



–
Turn light switch to “0” position.



–
Remove luggage compartment side trim cover.









–
Unplug connector -6-.



–
Unscrew nuts -1- and -3 ... 5-.



–
Squeeze retainer tabs -arrows- at bulb housing -2- and detach rear light outwards.



Installing



Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
Note[/align]


Make sure gasket between body and rear light housing provides a proper seal.

Before tightening nuts, align rear light with body contours (even shut lines).



Tightening torque

thanks that is what I found before I guess it just looks different. I haven't taken anything apart yet. I will try right now..appreciate it....
