Hi there new to site I own a 2009 a6 2lt tdi and was given a xcarlink backup camera system which shud look like own speci in the car is the 3G mmi which is required after spending a few hrs striping trim and running wires it turns out that my car does not hav canbus on the informat system but as fiberoptic cables does any no if this is correct or hav I missed sumthing hopefully sum body can help thanks

 

You haven't missed anything. All the infotainment data (which would include the back up camera) travels between modules and the MMI screen via the MOST network which is, as you found out, a fiber optic network.

 

So does that mean the shop I bought the backup camera and interface are tlkin rubbish when they say it fits my car
