how do i correctly torque down control arm bolts?
im going to be replacing my lower arms on 01 a6 fwd 2.8 this weekend (and maybe upper) and as i looked for vids and tech articles they all have the torque amounts.
how do i go about making sure i torque the bolts down to the correct specification?
i have seen some torque wrenches but since i dont have a lift ill be using the jack that came with the car+ 2 more jacks & i dont think that torque would fit as it seems to be quite huge. (maybe its just magnified?)
Walmart.com: Torin Jacks 1-2" Adjustable Torque Wrench: Automotive
is there any way to know ive reached the correct torque without a torque wrench? or do they have smaller ones?
i was just planning to tighten the bolts with a regular wrench.
how necessary is this wrench?
thanks for the help. i have no problem buying it i just dont see how ill be able to use it under the car as its so big

Don't use jacks --
Use good jack stands!
And get a good floor jack
As for the torque - you need a good torque wrench to make that happen
Smaller ones - sure there are many different sizes -
get the one that covers the range you need.
the 10 to 150 is normal automotive.
