Since you AREblasting me,(I'm not trying to start a war here,I justfound this site and so far am impressed w/ the integrity ofit as a whole, but youtotally missed the point of my post) I'll reiterate thatmost A6'sare Autobahncuisers designed for families.. I don't have a Ford and would never buy an American piece of crap. What IHAVE, is a big block driveline that is being put into a tube chassis with an A2 Jetta body on it, being set up for drag. I drive an A6 Avant Quattrow/ a 2.8 V6 among other VAG products. We were never refering to a RS6, or S4, or S6,or S8 for that matter. He was asking what kind of 0-60 you can get from this setup? And I'm asking you... Did you buy your Audi w/ the intent of dragracing it? If you did, you are a fool. AllI was saying was there are better cars suited for dragracing, if that is your intent. Have you ever ridden in a Buick? My grandmother had one for as far back as I can remember, upuntil she quit driving and I will never EVER compare that piece against my A6. You totally went off on a tangent and so here's mine. No flame intended or recieved.

Tset - you may try calling Prestige Imports and see if they can provide any help..they are in Lakewood. I am a new Audi owner in CO as well.. I haven't done much research yet on some good shops, so if you find any, let me know.
I understood the stock 4.2 makes about 300hp. That's pretty darn good. The stock 2.7T is 250hp.
The limit with the 4.2, or any "normally" aspirated or fuel injectedengine, is that there is not a lot you can do without major - read expensive -changes. Dropping in a supercharger may do wonders, but it ain't cheap. Fooling around with the exhaust MAY buy you a couple horsepower, but is it worth the aggravation, expense, and potential for screwing up your gas mileage for minimal increases. A K&N may help a tad, but nothing I ever read shows measurable improvement. It's just nice to have a reusable air filter.
The GIAC (or similar) chip may be the way to go, but it's going to cost you $1000+ for the engine and the tranny and you don't gain a lot.
Everything I have read on this forum says the 2.7T has the most potential for modifications because of the twin turbos. Hence the response to swap engines. But again, based on what I have read, the 4.2 will last forever with reasonable care while the 2.7T needs some babying and a lot of maintenance. I don't mind the timing belt change at 90K, but I live in fear of blowing a turbo for $3000+. PS - You can put bigger turbos into the 2.7T and get it to 450+hp. I've seen estimated costs from $3000 to $8000 for that little uplift.
And yes, I made some mods to my 2.7Tand according to GIAC make 318hp, which is not much more than your stock engine! So relax and enjoy a fun car. It's made for high speed cruising, not to win stoplight races. (And before I get corrected, I've peeked at the A4/S4 forum and know they can build fast cars, and the R6 is a screamer. But I don't have $80K.)

I would like to at least look into having the exhaust opened up by getting the resonators out of there. I was hoping I could find somewhere to do that for not more than $300-400. Doing much more than that sounds like it will get pricey for little return.
Anyone in CO reccomend an exhaust shopin th Denver area for TCullen and I?

The best shops for VW / Audi in Denver areeither Avalon Motorsports or AutosportWerks.
Both shops have highly qualified staff and know what they are doing. If you go to Avalon
(my personal choice) ask for Cliff. He is an Audi certified tech from Prestige who now works at Avalon. They have worked on my A6 2.7T and they offer custom built downpipes and exhaust.
