Default Question about 1st gear... possibly an issue?

Ok when I go to excellerate really quickly in first I rarely feel the turbo kick in and give me that push-back-into-the-seat feeling. However that feeling is VERY strong in second gear when I hit about 2500 rpms or so. Is this something that is strange?

Also, how come my car wont let me shift down into 1st unless I am going like under 15? If I am going over that it will just grind at me. Is this normal? Thanks guys!

I have the tip so I can't help you, but I can tell you the acceleration in 1st gear of the tip isn't nearly as strong as every other gear, plus it shifts into 2nd way too early even when in tip mode (it automatically goes into second right away).

I don't have that problem. What concerns me is that once the car hits ~3000 rpm in first it takes off so fast it hits redline awfully quickly. It also runs hardfrom that rpm in any gear, but seems to be more noticeable in 3rd, 4th, etc.

I'm guessing, but I think the synchros just don't like downshifting at that "high" a speed. Even when I stop, I usually stop in second and then downshift to first. The gears work very smoothly doing that. If I stop in neutral and then try to go directly to first, sometimes it sticks or resists. Even when I'm already stopped in neutral, I'll often shift into second and then down to first.
