Hey guys, I have noticed that when the weather is extremely cold (20s and down) a rattle noise comes from the engine bay very briefly as soon as the car starts up. The dealer said this was normal as its something related to the oil circulating through a cold car? They seem to take really good care of me, and have honored every warranty claim I've made - so I believe him. But I want to be sure. The rattle happens for no more than 1 second.

Is this normal?

 

Yeah thats normal, when the temperatures are really cold you want to use a lighter weight oil so it circulates faster. Like 0W30, run 10W30 if you are in a hot climate like the desert. For normal climates (most parts of the US is) run a 5W30.

 

Awesome. Just wanted my mind at ease. I love this car too much to have to sell it. =)
