ok i have a 99 a6 and i hear a rattle come from the front suspension when i go over fairly large pot holes or whe i go over large ones and very low speeds. and when im turning and hit a hole or something i hear the same thing... what is this noise coming from in the suspension? is it the control arms or what?

inject grease into your bolt joints and see what happens

 

Prob control arms, thats what I just got raped with. I work at a dealer and even at my cost, there is over $800 in parts

 

if it is the control arms you can buy a whole reinforced kit for $500

 

just inject grease into their joints before you do anything else. best results are expected if the rubber boots around the joints are still intact. you probably may not need to change the arms right away
