Remote trouble, resync or reprogram?
Heres the deal, I bought the car knowing the drivers door lock was seized, but the remote worked fine so i didnt mind. So now I went ahead like a fool and opened up the remote (disconnecting the battery) and lost the programming.
So I can't reprogram the remote since I cant turn my drivers door lock. But I was just reading through the a6 faq posted here and a few posts mention "resyncing" where you just press the remote button then lock and unlock the doors. Should this work for me or will I have to get my lock replaced before I can program the remote?

You can reprogram your remote via any of the front doors, so you should be able to perform the reprogramming by using the passenger side door.
P.S... or the trunk lid lock.

Sorry about the trunk lid; my mistake... I thought that the synchronization can be restored by inserting the key in that lock, as well, since they all function in unison when the security system performs properly.
As far as the "newer" models, I had no idea they have no key hole on the passenger side door. I programmed my second key from the passenger side, that's why I even mentioned it. For some reason it wasn't responding from the driver side.
Damn...I guess I just made a fool out of myself with those suggestions, huh?
Moreover, it appears I have a "fossil" of an Audi... old, crappy and simpler technology.
