Default RS6 Build up

So I was thinking the other day about the RS6 being a v8 biturbo. If you were to upgrade to the rs6 turbos would they be slow to spool on the v6? (I can't find much info about them so any info or links would be great!

Also how is the 4.2 in the a6 different than the v8 in the rs6? Would it be possible for a super ambitious person to take the 4.2 block and rebuild it into a biturbo v8 or would it just make more sense to try and find an rs6.

The topic of adding more power to the 4.2 has been discussed many times here.

It is possible to build up the 4.2 with turbos, but the cost would make it not worthwhile. A better option is to buy the rs6 and that way you get the full package with the bigger brakes etc.

I figured as much. Does that mean that the block on the RS6 has reinforced cylinders the same way the 2.7t does?

I still would like some information from anyone who has done the 2.7 turbo upgrade with rs6 turbos instead of the K04s.

Costs 10grand for a supercharger kit that gives the 4.2 same hp as the RS6. Good luck getting an rs6 for only 10g more than a 4.2

Forget the 4.2L and the RS6. If you already have the 2.7T you can buy garrett eliminators and push over 800 horsepower if you wanted to. Of course you would need to swap out the automatic trans for a manual one and upgrade the gears and clutch. Still that would be cheaper than building a 4.2L/RS6 engine.
Check these bad boys out.

These are for the S4, but its the same engine, so you can make it work.
Just saying...

Thats a serious set of turbos. I'll have to keep those in mind when I get around to turbo upgrades in the far future. What kind of spool time do you think your looking at with snails that big?
