in an effort to catch up any maintenance not done before i bought the car , i have been replacing filters ,etc getting ready for trans and oil filter and fluids ,,i bought spark plugs for my 01 A6 ,per bently manual ,gap changed from 2000 to 2001 ,so to gap properly i purchased ngk single ground strap plugs, it had twin ground strap ngk's and the gap looked very wide,,the car ran good before but hadamiss/flutter while idling ,sometimes , and a slight hesitation onlight throttle take off ,,now with new plugs and .020 gap it runs good down low ,,but still has flutter ,sometimes ,,and seems to surgesome on hard pull ,,now iknow i could simply regap and try it but what a pain ,, and audi tightened the plug gap for areason right? any body want to throw in their 2 cents i would appreciate it ..

 

Have you checked codes for 02 sensors yet? Any Auto Zone has a code reader they'll let you use.

 

gaps are fairly close, changed ones on my V6 at local store and by the book they have 2 ground straps, shame i cant get bosch super 4 (4 ground straps) on me old motor (honda) done over 100k on them and still going strong
