Ok well i have had my 2002 Audi A6 3.0 for a few days now. LOVE IT!! now after some drive time the steering starts to get really tight, but its still turnable. Is it a problem? or is it common?

 

I think I have noticed the same on my 05 a6 4.2. It doesn't get 'very tight' but sometimes it is tighter than I think it should be. I know there is a system that makes it tighter when speed gets higher to make it more stable on highways. But sometimes I feel the wheel is too tight to turn for a given conditions.

Would be greatful if anybody could shed some light on it as well...

 

I had that problem on my '02 3.0 but it was accompanied by the power steering pump groaning. I flushed it and refilled, and it took care of both problems.
