HX, thanks a lot man. It was exactly what I was about to ask.
Did you have any trouble at all after replacing the plastic entirely with rubber? Any risk for the rubber ones to clog much faster than the plastic ones?

I had mine like that for about a year and no problem so far... It is just vacuum so shouldn;t clog up. Even if it did, it costs 50 cents and 10 minutes to replace.

Basically check the hose from the throttle body to N82 purge valve above the airbox. N82 valve aka EVAP purge valve should click away, and you should be able to hear the noise. If it is working fine, then you should check the large vacuum line running from the valve to the rear of the car, and the related hoses per the diagram.

Also the fuel pressure regulator has a vacuum line going into it. Check that hose as well.
Anyone know how different this would be for a 2.7t

Anyone whos already done this mod, how long did it take you? I'm about to do it with my 1.8t, but I'm guessing mine will have more hoses than a 2.8.

It took me about an hour and a half. There was very little dismantling. The hoses I took off of my car were crumbly messes so replacing them is a good thing to do and easy too!

You saved a bunch of dollars by doing it yourself --- Our local dealer costs an even $100 per hour and would have used Genuine Audi Replacement Parts instead of generaic vacuum hose - the major difference being the packaging - I estimate you saved about $300 and had a lot of fun cuddling your Audi.
