Where is my coolent going?
Another common leak point on the 2.7L is at the o-rings on the coolant pipes under the intake. They run from the front of the engine to the crossover coolant manifold on the rear of the heads. Generally you'll see coolant in the valley near the front (need to pop the appearance covers off to see). Sometimes it will run out the back, onto the bellhousing and appear that the leak is in the rear. Sometimes though, it will not leak enough to drip on the floor, instead the coolant is evaporated from engine heat before it gets that far. If it is the coolant pipe o-rings, it's fairly big job to replace them. In total you need 5 o-rings. Three of them are the same p/n, the other two are each different.
Thanks for your help guys. I know its not the coolant tank, I have replaced that already (about 2 years ago). I will at some time have to have a shop check into it for now I am going to have to just keep topping up the tank and checking in on a regular basis.
