Default Will I be unhappy with an A6 2.0T?

I'm seriously thinking about buying an A6 2.0T. I know the 3.0 V6 engine is more powerful but price and economy are important factors for me at this time. Car seems to drive, handle and perform very well with the 4 banger. I would appreciate feedback from an A6 2.0T owner out there. Thanks.

I think if you get the 2.0T in the US the car has to be front wheel drive. Quattro is not available. That engine also used to be mated only to the CVT tranny in the US.

The 2013 A6 2.0T IS available with quattro all wheel drive and a tiptronic. The biggest benefit of the 2.0 engine is the improved fuel econmy. If you're concerned about the engine not being powerful enough or the car itself not being quick enough, why not just go to your nearest Audi dealer and take one for a test drive? It's the easiest and best way for you to know for yourself if the car will suit your driving style or needs.

P.S. The biggest complaint I've read about the 2.0T engine is that many use large amounts of oil. I guess this would be something to keep in mind.

I drove several cars today including a couple 2.0Ts. While not as responsive as a 3.0T, I am satisfied that it will be a good commuter car. Now, I just need to find the right car at the right price. Thanks for the input.

I've not driven a Quattro 2.0T but the FWD one I did wasn't too bad. Had more power than I had excpected. The acceleration is what I'd call "adequate" for everyday driving.
Audi seems to have cured the oil burning problems with this engine for 2013. As a side note, the older 2.0T can be updated to 2013 specs. There's a TSB, and I've done a few. So far, so good. Takes about 3 hours to do the job, btw. "Upon CUSTOMER COMPLAINT of excessive oil consumption........................."

Perhaps since I have been driving an A4 2.0T, the A6 2.0T even with an automatic drives pretty well. It has decent torque off the line and cruising at 70 mph is very pleasant. I am negotiating now with several dealers on some service loaners that have 3-6K miles on them. How much does it cost to have an A6 certified? i doubt I will keep the car past the 4/50 warranty but I'm wondering if a certified car will be easier to sell. Is it worth the cost? Thanks.

I believe that the certification cost is a few hundred $'s and the extended warranty is around $1800-$2000. If you are purchasing a service loaner and they consider the "new" then I think that if you maintain the car properly you can get it certified as it approaches the 4/50 mark, it is not something you need to do at the time of purchase. I know that they used to offer this option if you purchase the car new because I asked about this possibility a couple of years ago when I purchased my 2008 CPO (I was also looking at new A6's at the time).

Well, I signed a purchase order today for a new A6. I went with the 2.0T Quattro. After driving several, I decided it was all the engine I need for my driving style. It cruises very well at 75 mph and handles nicely around town. With the $1500 Loyalty Cash it ended up being about the same price as a lightly used CPO unit. I rarely keep a car more than 3 years so the extended CPO warranty was not a big factor. I'll be trading my 3 month old A4 so if anyone needs any A4 all weather mats, trunk liner or a set of wheel locks send me a PM. I'd rather not ship anything but will consider it if you'll pay the shipping costs. My price is 50% of Audi retail. Everything is in like new condition.

Although I am thoroughly spoiled by my chipped 2.7T, there isn't a huge power difference between the stock 2.0T and 2.7T when you consider the A6 outweighs the A4 by 400-500 pounds. That's why I am thinking my next OOOO will be an A4 (if I am thinking clearly) or an S4 (if I go with my heart). In either case, an MT6 is mandatory.
