Question '00 A8 Over heating

First Post: Can anyone help?
A8 has produced a clicking sound from dashboard since new. Seems like some sort of temp sensor trying to switch between one mode and another.
About a year ago overheated. Dealer said it was thermostat, supposedly replaced. Car was OK for a while. Cost $1200 said they had to pull engine.
True? Not True?
About nine months later same overheating. This time replaced radiator. Cost about $1200.
Now three months later A8 sitting in my garage same problem.
Does anyone know about this problem?
I've read the posts about A8 overheating but none mention the clicking.
Appreciate your time
Thanks
Myr

go post your question on quattoworld.com or audiworld.com in the A8 section and you'll have your answer within a day or so. There's a much larger community of us A8 owners in particular at both of those sites. Most have shifted from audiworld.com to quattroworld over the past few days due to a switch in forum software at audiworld.

You hear a clicking in the dash board then your car overheats? Do you lose your heater when this happens?
