Default Enlighten me about D4

I have, as you can guess A6 2.7T, and I have enjoyed putting all the miles on my car (it is at 167000k) and it is still going strong. I am thinking about A8 D4 model, and I was wondering if you guys here in A8 Section can give advise. Any years to avoid in D4, or what to look for. Problem areas to be aware of and what is your experience with reliability and maintenance cost after the warranty.

I am leaning more towards 2012 model as it fits perfectly in my budget. Thanks!

2012 and later have Audi Connect if you care about that.
It provides Google Maps overlays and a 3G wifi hotspot in the vehicle for $30/month.

As far as I know there are only 2 of us with D4s in this forum, the rest is D3 and older - but not many of them either.
Lots of discussion about throttle lag on the 2013s and 2014s over at AudiWorld.

2012 is a good year in my opinion.
May not be as fast or powerful with the last of the 4.2s as the brand new 4.0Ts are, but I got mine so I didn't have bugs to work out

I'm very happy with my 2012 A8L. Does everything I expect it to and runs smooth.
