Default PRNDS Light on, but no apparent ill effects

Hi Guys
this is my first post, so hopefully I'm giving enough info here.
I've had a look around but can't find anything that's the same problem.

I have a 2003 A8 D3

I have PRNDS Light on, but no apparent ill effects in drive or sport modes.
It happened a few days after the car was in for a service.

Any clues appreciated.

thanks

This is what is called LIMP mode.

Typically means something is wrong with the transmission and it will run in a very low gear - eventually costing a mint to repair/replace.

It's possible that there is a sensor wire loose if it was just in for service.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
It doesn't seem to be limping in any way, so maybe a sensor wire. It's going back in for a new exhaust down pipe this week, I'll get them to check anyway. It seems a bit coincidental.
I'll let you know what happens.

cheers
Dave
