Default RE: Beginner Mods

hello, will be going to get my car this week. Have a few more questions.

On those badgeless grills, are the like full replacements and I will have to get the outside ring painted or does it fit inside the stock ring?

I want to get mesh wheels. What are good sites? I wanna pay less than $1,000. I was looking at limited 903's and such. Any ideas?

And I think I'm going to go with the awe boost gauge that fits in the vent. Anyone have expirence with it?

Thanks.

The FK badgeless grille does not require paint, the caractere does.

edgeracing.com and wheelsnext.com have cheap wheels.

any boost gauge will fit in the vent, some will require a trim ring or use of a mounting bracket. I have the AWE tuning gauge which comes pre-installed in an extra vent and you just swap them out. (although I bought just the AWE gauge and modified my own vent, saves $100.)

yes, ECS has them for $84.95. FYI you have to remove the front bumper to replace grilles though so be prepared.

I run the APR R1 diverter valve over the forge because there is no maintenance on the diaphram-style DVs and I like the stealth sound, if you are ok with maintenance and want the loudest sound get the forge.

I would say maintenance before you do ANYTHING, and that should drain some money out of your budget.

Then determine what kind of performance you want - How far you wanna go - bigger turbo? etc etc (of course once you get to a certain point you keep wanting more- so think broad)

And when you get a chip (my first recommendation) make sure that whichever company you chooose offers programs for the next step whenever you do reach that point (of a bigger turbo)

I made SO MANY mistakes with my car so hopefully you dont do the same. Just ask around and look the FAQ, and CHEAP=the best solution and EXPENSIVE=not always the best solution either...

AND CONGRATULATIONS on choosing the TT!!
