My glove compartment on the TT would not open. Apparantly one too many items are stuffed inside! Unfortunately, I broke the handle trying to get it open. The mechanic said the entire glove box must be replaced for $700! Any suggestions on how I can open up the broken glove box?

 

You just have to pry it open.

Go to http://www.audiworld.com/search/ and search for 'glove box stuck', (within the TT section) or something along those lines, theres links and pics and crap all over that will get you thru it. Its easier this way then telling you what to do depending on what exactly is going wrong with yours.

 

I would go with the BFH method

 

pull the cover off the side of the dashpanel. the cover that covers your fuse box juston the opposite side. theres a tab that the glovebox catches on. you can push it in with a screwdriver or what have you. should allow the glovebox to come open

mine did that.... don't pry that sonbitch open, it blows your plastic retainer out... little 2 inch peice of plastic, but then your glove box sags, it sucks
