Ok,
so for the last week, my car acts like the battery is dead SOME of the time. sometimes I'll get in and its perfectly fine. then sometimes I'll start it and it almost doesn't turn over, but when it does... everything electronic in the car is reset. (trip odometer, clock, automatic windows etc). I kind of thought I had a ground somewhere or maybe a chaffed wire.
well today when i started it... it did it again and almost didnt start but I saw the word "fuse" pop up quickly and disappear where my trip odometer miles usually are. does that mean I have a fuse bad? wth does that mean? Is it code for "you have a fcked up electrical system" or what?

I noticed this guy had the same or similar problem with a completely different car; no one gave him any help though! I bet you have a fuse issue.

Welp... now I have a few more symptoms.
[ol][*]The Word "Fuse" on my trip odometer.[*]occasionally my right blinker stays on. like actually STAYS on. Not even blinking. At least the arrow on the dash anyhow. It will just illum and stay... kind of dull and not bright and then it'll go out.[*]on the LCD I get a beep and then that little "bulb with an X over it". the manual says it means "Headlight/taillight out or fuse or electrical problem.[*]when I turn on my right blinker, I get a fast blink like a bulb is out... but none of my bulbs are out. On the exterior... both front and rear bulbs are just blinking fast. lol[*]Battery is drained when I get in the car and all clock, trip, radio all reset.[*]Even though starting the car is sluggish... I've still never had it NOT start. Even if its slowwwwwwww or its so slow it doesnt turn over... it will once i do it once or twice.[/ol]
Ok smart people... differential diagnosis anyone?
This is like Dr. House.
Everyone can suggest issues and fixesand Nate can be Dr. House and call us all dumbasses and tell us what it really is after we're wrong a million times.. lol

Nah, it's code for "you drive an Audi; this probably costs $1000+ to fix"[:@]

But seriously, my guess would be just your battery or a wiring harness. I'd check battery first; swap in another one or take it to a shop to check it out or something. You could just be running really low voltage.Got VAG-COM? Might help to check for codes.

Nah, I do all my own maintenance. wiring harnesses aren't really too bad. I've take the interior of this car COMPLETELY out before (all panels, carpeting, seats, etc) down to the bare metal. In the Maxima and in my mom's 325i... when I set up all the audio... I always pull out almost all the interior wire harnesses and hard wire all the audio cabling into the car's harnesses (by "car's harnesses", I dont mean just the little radio harness. lol, I'm talking all the harnesses just about lights, security, audio, A/C, doors, windows, etc). Its the only real way to get rid of the stuff you dont need anymore. Otherwise, you'll just be installing OVER the existing stuff and it'll just add up and you'll have wiring in there for things you dont even have anymore. Plus its a good way to clean it all up if you pull it all out and redo it all from the bottom up. Gives it a totally spotless setup.

Trying more or less to see if anyone would know WHICH harnesses to start with though. I don't always have time to pull all the harnesses out and redo it all just for this. If I had a free weekend, I'd just redo it all and get it. I'm trying to just fix that issue for now and I'll clean it all up later when im bored and have a free weekend.
