Exclamation New guy having A/C woes

Hey everyone,

I've been a lurker on this form for the last few days now. My brother has been stationed in Hawaii and the Navy would only pay to ship one car so, I now have a 2002 TT quattro!

That said, I'm having some A/C issues. (There are more problems, but I will get to those when I have the time and money.) The Fan Control Module was bad, so I replaced that. It seemed to do the trick for a day or so, then the engine started to overheat while I was teaching a friend how to drive manual.

Now, when I turn on the A/C all I get is warm air, the compressor won't engage, and neither fan will turn on. I am not having any issues with overheating, and I drive in typically, city stop-and-go everyday.

So, if anyone can help me troubleshoot this I would be very grateful! Texas summer is coming soon!!

Similar problem. Tried to recharge AC but when I connect to the refill valve there's pressure that shoots my gauge reading into the red (gauge is part of AC pro set). I emptied the compressor contents and connected gauge to refill valve and no pressure until I add a little refrigerant then gauge needle goes to red. Should I be looking at problem with refill valve or compressor?
