Start-ups have definately become weak this week and I'm guessing battery at this point. Am I correct to assume if I'm having a charging system issue, that one of the million cluster lights would inform me of the pending doom? I'd rather treat the problem rather than the symptom if I could.

 

first start the engine and check the voltage to the battery it should be 14v+ and not above 15v,
less than 13v means alternator/belt tension/wiring if the car stands for a long time the battery should hold enough cranking amps to turn the engine and its free to check this at most garages

 

Thanks, I figured as much. Checked it out. About 14 volts going back in. Battery must just be getting a bit tired. Easy fix.
