Battery Issue

Default Battery Issue

I just finished installing my new music system.....1800 kenwood amp for 2 12's jl audio and a 400kicker for voices......The Problem: My lights dim when the bass pushes hard.....Do i need a gel battery or i can solve this with just a 2farad cap.....thanks

i ran an optima yellow top and had no issues when i had my system..... never ran caps

What awg wiring are you using to power your amp?

Do you have a stock alternator?

Have you considered doing the big 3? (replacing bat to ground, alt to bat, block to ground) wires with 0awg wires. If you change those 3 wires you shouldnt get any more dimming, here is a tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82xRzCr-lc

I did this on my old car and it fixed my dimming.

That is also important, I assumed the amp was installed correctly

Maybe i did some overkill here on this one but i have a second battery in the back and a 1.5 Fared cap. My battery gauge doesn't even twitch when the bass hits XD.
