Tint over the lens cover without taking it apart?

So I decided last night to do my engine covers and the headlight mod lake silver and with the clear corners...all done with perfect color match for only 30 dollars. First I went to Napa, brought them the lake silver color code and had them mix me up a perfect batch of paint ($20) then I went to Home depot and bought a sheet of 22" x 48" plastic (plenty extra for mistakes) for the clear corners (similar to pic below) a small tube of bondo ($3) and sandpaper($6) after about 6 hrs total got it all done with great results...(spare primer and clear coat, freebie) looks great, highly recomended DIY.

Not my pics but same results just diff color

you can also pic these up at auto zone for a few bux.

The only thing I can say about going this method is take your time...mine ended up peeling back cause I didn't let the silicone fully set up before putting them back in the oven...took the clears back out since, fixed a few minor inperfections and put it back together with the original amber corners...also another route for those too lazy or with inabilities to do this is have murderface do it for you, he charges I think 100 bux.

he means when you have the light apart to just spray tint over the turn signal instead of paying (dont know how much, but alot) for the clear or tinted lens. There will still be some amber hue to it, but wont stand out like stock does. I left mine stock since i kind of like the amber, otherwise mine look just like the 2 above

I only asked because separating the light could be the only intimidating thing about the mod, and while you already have it apart........ Personally, I've always said it's one of the best mods for the amount of effort/cost involved. It's a subtle enough change that most people (aside from some TT owners) wouldn't even notice it.

ttstuff.com has some or you could save the $$ and just spray the stock lights like you did the tails. Only diff would be a little yellow tint to them

i would just use a low gloss black. You dont need bondo for the pin holes you can use glazing putty.. It comes in a tube, its basically bondo...

If you dont want to do it i remember seeing a member a while ago that would do them for you. It was like 125 bucks maybe? i dunno, that didnt include the clear lenses though.
