W/M install complete. (Stage 2 MAF Kit) *** All is not Lost ***
Lemmingwinks is for the Serial Cable and Unisettings is for the USB. They are the same thing though, just different interfaces, the programs look identical though. Both HEX and KEY USB cables work with Unisettings. CAN does not and a certain version of the KEY-USB has a lot of trouble with it.
Buddy is leaving for 2 weeks and leaving me with his laptop so I'll have some time to dick with it now.
On Vag-Com... I got a ton of fault codes... mostly airbag ad alarm codes. I guess the ECU logs everytime your alarm goes off which is nice but a pain in the butt when downloading everything with Vag-Com.
Other than the big self test looking for codes... I have absolutely no idea how to use ANYTHING else on the Vag-Com program. Every menu i went to asked for all kinds of codes and crap and I don't even know where to begin to understand that crap so I guess I better study a little first.
Nate, you know where in Vag-Com I would do that datalogger thing you're talking about where I graph timing?

For example, you can recode your windows and locks to operate with the remote. You can adjust the gas mileage your computer calculates. You can reset airbag codes (I tripped the light when vacuuming under the seat). You can reset your A/C if you ever get an overcharge code and the A/C stops working. You need it if you ever want to adjust your xenons.
There is also a VAG-COM forum where you can find a lot of answers. The thing about VAG-COM is that it gives you access to ALL modules, not just the engine module.
Oh definitely. I just don't understand it yet.
Kind of curious about the airbag one. I have an airbag code right now and an airbag light. Something about resistance to passenger side airbag igniter. Very annoying actually. Can you disable the electronic trunk pop? lol
Nevermind on that one. That would be just masking the problem instead of fixing it. I have my work cut out that weekend. It'll be tough... but I have a feeling it'll be rewarding. I need to learn these things as I really want to change a few things that I don't like (window auto feature, key fob commands, Odometer to Km from miles, etc)
Anyhow... yea, I plan on checking it out... but im nowhere near ready to fiddle with much of it yet. I just opened it up to see what the fuss was about.

Ok, so I overreacted when the Lemminwinks didnt work as advertised the first time. Overall, w/m IS worht the money, even if you don't advance the timing.
Think about it; even if you dont advance timing... it adds almost 20 points of octane to your fuel. Meaning if you dont advance timing, you can run regular unleaded (87Oct) with w/m and still have enoughto run a 100 Oct race file. thats awesome just by he money it saves you at the pump. Not to mention that it ADDS life to your engine by protecting it.
I was very harsh and irrational in that post because things didn't go how I had planned, but the system does work. And yes... there is definitely a noticeable gain even without the timing and boost increase/advance. Nowhere near the gain you'd have WITH it... but still a big gain nonetheless. I shouldn't have been publily so negative like that. lol
Oh by the way, HEET emailed me back. HEET in the yellow bottle is 99.9% methanol, .1% detergents and additives.
50%HEET & 50% wateris perfect forw/m applications.
By the way, here's the parts list you'll need if you want to go W/M in your Audi TT (All prices are from summitracing.com):
[ol][*]W/M Kit (Prices vary but I went with the Stage 2 MAF Kit. It give 10% injection at a set Airflow rate and 100% at the other set airflow rate. You set the rates on the controller) $390[*]Dual Nozzle Upgrade (optional) - $30[*]Nozzles If you do go dual nozzle, you need to buy two nozzles that add up to equal the amount predetermined for your HP output. ~350hp = 175ml/min nozzle. So if you run dual, you want the 100ml, and the 60ml) Note: Summit does not sell the 60ml - $20/nozzle[*]Rubber Hose Adapter - Since the TT has a rubber chargepipe, you will need one or two of these adapters depending on whether you go Dual Nozzle. - $22/adapter[*]Solenoid Upgrade Kit - (optional, but advised) Ok, so you may or may not need the solenoid upgrade kit, but snowperformance says the pump MUST be mounted above the resevoir to prevent gravity feeding when you dont want injection. Since you are VERY limited on space in the TT... I would advise getting the solenoid so you dont end up needing it later and not having it. - $40[/ol]
There's also the Safeinjection system... that is supposed to reduce your timing and boost if you run out of "Juice", but Im not sure how effective that is or how it works if timing is set high on your ECU.
Otherwise... for a Dual Nozzle system for the TT that cuts on @ desired times as per MAF signal... your grand total will be $544 for everything (includes 100ml and 60ml nozzles, dual upgrade, solenoid upgrade, adapters, and w/m kit)
Voila... Water and methanol... directly into your intake at the best place.
Hope this help sum it up for those looking into this upgrade. Well worth the money and time invested in the install. If any of you have any questions about the install, feel free to IM me about it or ask on here so as to answer the same question for someone else if they have it.

So the gains you are talking about, are they very noticable by the butt dyno? How much do you think you gained but not doing the timing or boost? I was thinking of doing the kit too before next summer. Ive heard but Im not sure I beleive it, but I was told that the 08 2.0T might even adapt its timing up and down according to the intake temp. So has anyone heard if the new TT will adjust timing by itself when it gets colder air? And will my 93 oct GIAC chip allow for that too?
Steve, i think i posted this for you before, be here you go
"On a 2.0T we did a baseline of 210 whp and 230 wtq with Revo stage 2, after the meth the same car on the same dyno put down 230 whp and 250 wtq! I'll get the owner to post up in here confirming these claims asap"

They never said that the made any adjustment either
