I should apologize for that up there. The VagCom does work... just not the Lemmingwinks software(which is what you use to advance the timing, fuel, boost), and that works too... just not with the cable I got from Ross-Tech.
The reason is that the lemmingwinks (Unitronics) software is not made by VagCom. It was made as a project and not a product and is therefore not really funded at all. They kind of made it for free as a helpful tool, so you can't complain TOO much when it isn't compatible. When you buy the vag-Com cable, it is very hit or miss whether you get a cable that is compatible with the external lemmingwinks (unitronics) software. I basically just didn't luck out at all and I got the one that does not work with it. Just sucks because that is pretty much the only reason I'd want the cable.

Does ANYONE know for a fact what works in absence of BOOST JUICEâ„¢?
I'm reluctant to even do a test run without the right stuff since I know sucking water into an intake can screw up an Engine and I can't imagine injecting directly into the intake manifold would be much different so I really wanna be sure before proceeding.

Nate... Help a brother out.
You can run straight water if you wish. I've used Aquamist for years and always have used washer fluid, sometimes with methanol added, sometimes not. Washer fluid is much cheaper than mixing your own stuff. However, you should not use more than 50% mix.

Is your VAG-COM cable USB or Serial? I have the Serial cable and have never had a problem using it with Lemmiwinks. The problem is that you need an older laptop (new ones don't normally have serial ports) or you have to screw around with a serial pcmcia card.

how restrictive do you think it is? he has tested over and over what he has made, as successful as his products are there seem to be too many people not believing in what he makes and does for his customers. I dont have a vtda, but he has given me advice multiple times, and just because something is louder doesnt make it better.

btw, im not picking sides, i have a p-flow and like how it sounds

the intake takes in the air from the sides and the sides are now covered with only about 1/4" of space between them. This is why the p-flo killsany modshack intake in the testing done. His intakes drop serverally in flow above 4k where thep-flo still is flowing strong and this is where the engine needs air the most. Also the cooler intake air temp thinking is just BS. The air is going to go into the turbo that is super hot from turbin heat and then is going to get compressed creating more heat. The air coming out of the turbo will be within a few degrees of each other if you got a filter on the maf, stock airbox, or a modshack intake. That is why flow is much more important than intake temps. Im confident the people taking off the covers didnt see any decrease in low end performance and possible gains in the top end.

As for his customers, they are alllemmings. This is HUGE on all the forums for Audis. People are not willing to try something new and think for themselvesso if they seea few people withsomething, they take it a good or worse proven and the cycle continues. This is why me and many vortexers nolonger see things eye to eye.I dont do many things that are the norm and has made me kind of an outcast there.

I've herd this whole argument before, this was the response I was trying to avoid when I said I'm not picking sides lol

im not making an arguement, im stating facts.

ask 225TT, clipse, or nuer0tic (well, if he turns off the w/m)how it is and im sure they are happier with it off, and not just for the noise.

You cant tell me you dont notice that everyone follows, Audi should change it from "Never Follow" to "Follow any other Audi owner because its been done, regaurdless if it performs"
