01 A4 shutting off help.
If after a drive when the engine is warmed up, you stop and kill the engine, and then shortly come back to it, you'll see engine temp has increased just from sitting w/coolant not flowing through the engine. The gauge could be 3/4 way to max hot.
If the needle went a little past halfway while sitting in traffic on a hot day with the ac on, that is almost normal. Lots of people note this happening. Once the car gets going it drops.
You may want wait until the engine is cool, take off the coolant tank cap and let the engine run with the heat on... Give it some revs, but not to red line or anything. Some air may have gotten in the system when doing the ects. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Well, it was fine for a while and now its doing the same thing.
Also the instrument cluster is showing EPC, not sure what that stands for.
But it doesnt crank over and once it does start if the EPC light is on then the car will automatically shut off in like 1-2 minutes.
Could it be the ECU going bad?

Uh, Why are you editing out EVERY thing you say with periods after you get an answer? No one can read through the thread and hopefully use it to troubleshoot their own car if your doing that..
Like now, I happened to see you said your car is showing the epc light, so I could help, but I have no other info to go on (since you deleted it)

Did a search on EPC light and It seems like it could be a bad MAF or throttle position sensor?
Anyone else had the similar problem? Also, I did not clear the codes after I replaced the ECT sensor.
Sorry, wish the old posts were still there I dont know what happened. Also was told you can reset the potentiometer by
Engine off, turn ignition to 2 (dash lights) press hard on the accel pedal on off 10 times. Leave a few seconds, keys out of ignition then start the car.
