And joe if u dont mind answering.. wats the difference from the 2001 and the 1999? is it the tiptronic trans?? i heard those can b a pain in the bum.. just asking..
i looked up the water punp only $53 or somethign and a new timing belt $30 but if i would have to replace everything than $160.. my proces might not b right on..
ok, you must not really know alot about cars, much less audi's(not to bag on you, trying to help).... short shifters make the throw from gear to gear shorter, not really keep your foot off the clutch.... and audi stock and a good aftermarket release very high, so you can't just slam the pedal to the floor, slam the shifter and rip your foot off the pedal....

the dv is kind of like a blow off valve except it recirculates the air back into the system, the factory one will not really hold up to the upgraded preasure(specially not with 100k on it)

the 99 and the 01 look alto differnet, have different motors, and different power ratings.... advantage 99
stronger internals
throttle body cable
bigger port head/manifold

disadvantage to most
the exterior

advantage 01
exterior
more power from factory

disadvantage
if you go bt, need to upgrade internals for most applications
most get the aeb head

if you have any other questions just keep asking them here, don't start 10 threads like alot of the other noobs do...... but if you would read the newbie guide alot of this would be answered there

This process will make your car faster than it was, but it won't beat your friend's camaro... corvette engine or not. If you want to beat a camaro, you need to look into buying a larger turbo and a better exhaust system.
Isnt the APR chip basicaly the same as the GIAC? I heard the Apr is kinda better not the same specs but more bang for ur buck. but which would u consider?? the GIAC than??

I have seen that the APR puts out the same numbers overall, but GIAC gives the car more bottom end performance which makes the car seem faster because all your power is for accelerating from a stop. I don't have either, so I can't really help, but I think APR is usually what the b6 owners get.
