Default I know this is a 10yr old thread......

If your still around what we're your findings, I'm currently trying to do a very similar issue with the blinking oil light in or around the same range urs was acting up but mainly in lower gears 1st and 2nd. I recently had oil temp sensor and oil pump and oil pickup line all replaced, along with some mods and a stage 2 rune and a cat del. I'm waiting for my op gauge to come to maybe shine some light on this darn issue. It's on alot less when I jse the tiptronic also in part by me winding out the gears more I belive. But if you figured out your issue please respond and let me know your findings or anyone who maybe had this issue and found the reason why.

Thanks for reading guys be safe

I don't understand how this could be an oil pump issue in that the oil light does not come on at any other RPM other then 1800. Or...is it possible the new oil temp/level sensor has already failed?...is there a way to accurately test the oil temp/level sensor? I suspect maybe heating the car up and then testing the sensor?

Take the oil pan off and check the pick up from the oil pump. Likely has stuff caught up in it restricting sucking up as much oil as it should causing low oil pressure intermittently on different occasions.

Pickup was replaced when oil pump was done, mainly anything that could need replacing when doing a job like that was replaced. When i start the car she has a healthy oil pressure but quickly drops as she heats up. Ill have to record some speed, rpm and op readings to give a better idea of what's going on. I'll try to get that done sooner than later.

I had an oil pressure issue and that was the last thing I considered (because I was thinking like you), but for some odd reason, that was the fix. They're cheap enough on ebay to give one a shot.
