Default 97 audi a4 1.8t trans drain plug

SO I bought the 16mm socket and it dose not fit. The plug is not tamper proof. It seems like its just a 17-18mm 12 point tork bit. What the hell EVERY where I read it said I needed the socket. Is there some thing wrong here?

It should be a 12 point specialty tool...not a torx etc...here's one on ebay....NOT mine, just thought I'd throw it at ya, to see if this is what you got?

thats the tool I bought (i have). The plug on the trany is like a 17-18mm 12 point hex. The plug is not tamper proof. IDK why its like that but that tool will not work at all. not even close.

Like I said, it's a specialty tool. If you say you got the correct one, I believe you. The tranny one is like one of those wheel tire lock specialty tools....BS, but german engineering and all....

Maybe, just maybe, whoever had the car before changed the plug/bolt...can you see if it's stripped out or not? I know you're gonna hate me, but is there any way you can take a picture of what it looks like? a good picture? and i can probably tell you what it is....

Thats the one I have. Im thinking some on had to replace the plug. Its still a 12 point but it is not tamper proof and its like a 17mm. At least I can just go out and buy the socket now.
