only things down there, besides a leaky valve cover dripping on the exhaust manifold, are the oil and coolant lines to the turbocharger. Whats the smoke smell like, oil or water?

How does engine temperature affect it? If it happens more when cold than hot, it's likely a valve cover gasket or small leak. It sounds like you've caught it early. If you haven't caught it early, it'll do it hot or cold. If it happens when both cold and hot, either valve cover gasket leaking onto your exhaust manifold or you have some sort of leak at the turbo; could be a return line. Try and rev it a bit. The turbo won't spool boost with no load (in neutral), but if the smoking gets worse, chances are that's a line on the turbo going. Higher oil pressure wouldn't affect leaking at the valve cover gasket.
