hmm you shouldn't be grinding. try a tranny flush and fill. usually a clutch with 68kwouldn't go yet but it could if the car was always getting beat on. i've got 116,xxx on my original clutch and it's barely starting to go but it probably will by spring because i do ALOT of city driving lol. do you have a friend who is prety good with cars and can drive yours to see how it is?

Nope i just moved here (cedar rapids, IA)so dont know many people, hopefully my dad can tell me if it is going bad when he comes here in April. So since we are on the topic of clutches, i have another question. Is it worth to put an S4 or after market clutch if i have to replace mine? As you can see i dont know much about the clutch. I only have a speedtunning chip, and dont intend on putting a super charger any time soon. I know most will say no you dont need it, but what are some of the differences if i intend to go aftermarket? I know i can reduce significant weight with changing the flyweel, but are there are other advantages?
Thanks

you need to read the whole post again lol. all the answers to your question is there because i've alredy asked them haha. i'm thinking about getting a southbend stage one and just use it with my stock flywheel or i might go with specclutch.

You can't directly bolt on an S4 or RS4 clutch on an A4, the ECS tuning kit comes with a modified flywheel so you an bolt it up.
The S4 and RS4 clutch really won't have that much pedal effort over the stock A4 one.
One thing i have to disagree with is the pedal effort comment that you made.

I have the Ecs tuning stage 2 clutch kit for about 50k miles now and its INCREDIBLY stiff. I would not recomend this clutch setup for a daily driver. Its insanely good, but its too much work for a dd.

The clutch engages at the floor and it is EXTREMELY stiff.

I do love it though

Don't get me wrong, its a great setup for a track car with good HP #'s. However when it comes to a daily driver its too stiff. Youre better off getting southbend or whatever it is nowadays. Swearing at your car in rush hour is not worth it. Especially here in the chicago area.. GAH[:@]
