Default Aftermarket Tail Lights Question

Hi I've had my 2000 1.8t for a little over a year now and i love it so i decided to start modifying it. The only problem i've had thus far is when i put in my aftermarket lights. the headlights went in fine but the tail lights came up with a brake light out symbol and an annoying beeping sound every time i hit my break peddle. i know that this is happening because the new light assembly does not use the old plate(where all the bulbs were attached) because they are LED lights now. So my question to you guys is... is there some sort of chip or unit that i can buy that will over-ride the current error code or am i going to have to make a bypass circuit(if so how?). Thanks everyone, im so glad to finally be a part of this forum.

You could measure across the bulbs that were in the tails and then install a load resistor in the LED setup so that the combination of the LEDs and resistor has the same impedance as the bulb. That's the quickest way to fool the car since it likely uses a voltage sense to determine if the bulbs are lit or not.
