Default AM/FM Radio Probelms, Signal Quality?

Hey guys, I own a 2000 Audi A4 Quattro. I have XM radio and rarely listen to AM/FM. But that being said I love to listen to AM radio for sports and ballgames. I live in the Chicago burbs, probably about 20-25 miles south of downtown. I just moved back from college and noticed last nite that I get no typical chicago AM or FM stations on my radio. It has always worked fine in the past, but all of a sudden every Chicago AM station is all fuzz and static. On the FM dial 2 or 3 of my normal presets faintly come on in, with static and buzz, the rest of the FM dial is also all static and fuzz. I dont understand what happened. Last I checked my radio was working OK back in Pittsburgh (where I just left) and last time I was in Chicago (a year ago) it was working fine too. Has this happened to anyone else. My car has about 100K miles, is there something mechanically or electrically about the radio here? HELP?

It could be because you're a bit further from the city.

Are you sure you're on the exact frequency?

Yeah Im sure, im using the same exact presets as before (before I moved out a couple years ago for grad school). And im in the same exact location as before, I have had this car for 5 years, 3 of which are here in Chicago burbs and never had this issue.

I have a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quadtro and i can confirm that the stock radio either sucks and never got great radio frequency or it fades over time,it doesn't help that there isn't any external anntenas, sticking out from the car, either.

I got a few stations in but i get a lot of cross chatter and the stattions go in and out, depening on where i drive.

I plan on getting an after market sterio soon,it should be better but then again, not a lot of people listen to radio anymore.

Mine works fine. The "Bass" button is peeling off and I have some antenna and wire in the glovebox that I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with...

Perhaps there's a new signal issue in that area
