According to the table below, there are various other engine codes for the 2.8l V6. For a 97 or 99, they show 5 (!) different engine codes. Which is correct?

A4 1994 - 1997 2.8
AAH A4 1995 - 1997 2.8
AFC A4 1995 - 1998 2.8
ACK A4 1996 - 1997 2.8
AHA A4 1997 - 1998 2.8
ALG A4 1998 - 2001 2.8
AMX A4 1998 - 2001 2.8
APR A4 1998 - 2001 2.8
AQD A4 1999 - 2001 2.8
ATQ A4 1999 - 2001 2.8
ATX A4 2000 - 2001 2.8
AZR

 

The top one is as far as i know. The other one might be world wide and all the different codes for each motor in each country...

 

I actually wanted to bring this up before. My 2001 1.8T has the engine code AMB.
