Default Boost Surging

Hey guys,

I have a 2001 audi a4 1.8t APR chipped R1 DV. Been happening since the beginning of summer. Ill hit the gas, boost (boost gauge shows 15psi steady) but the boost/power cuts in and out. Virtually, when i boost im loosing RPMs and the power will cut in and out.

Really weird, any ideas?

Thanks

replaced all my vacuum lines when i installed the boost gauge, they were really corroded.

Intake is stock. replaced the filter a couple times looks good. Did not plug a vagcom in yet, didnt think it would shoot a code for this, but ill head to my local store tomorrow and do so anyway.

Think a diode might fix this? could be in limp mode but im not sure it would be if the turbo is surging..

if you were in limp mode you'd be seeing a CEL, and about 4lbs of boost at the most. You might be hitting some kind of soft limp that just cuts boost without the CEL? I have a spare diode sitting around, if you want it just PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail.
