From what I understood, the kit included the turbo, piping, and tune (initially for the S4, since this kit is being intended for the S4 - the fact that the exhaust manifold spacing on a 30v is identical is what opens this up to 30v owners, although they're secondary to 034's intent with the kit). You have to source the S4 intake mani, downpipes, S4 exhaust, IC and piping, and other required parts, and you'll have a decent amount of parts relocation to do for the install. For the tune, 034 is writing the S4 files first, followed by adaptation to the dbw 30v (ATQ) motors sometime later, and after that, the AHA dbc cars (which will require a tune unique to those engines.

so 5000 later.... is it still worth it. how much could the 30v handle when you get past getting all this **** on there then attempt to tune it. i doubt it will handle much power

I don't think it is. The 30v pistons are cast, and that's its main weakness. The S4 has forged pistons and can handle this turbo's output as tuned with a stock bottom end. The 30v is very unlikely to be able to do that, which means building the bottom end.

I meant they might post the price of the tune later.

Its true, this kit is designed for the S4. With this kit available though, they've done all the hard part in turbo'ing the 30V and soon to have a tune available.

They also state that there will be "stage" setups available.

Only thing is, my tip won't handle the power... Or will the K04 be safe on my tip?

Having a tip on my car pretty much threw out the idea of doing this...

I compare this to the PES s/c and I would find this a better option. Even the PES kit needed some relocation. I'm just too optimistic I guess lol...

You could take light boost on a stock Tip with no problem. remember though, this kit wouldn't work with a K04. You'd have to cut the turbo flange off and replace it with a K flange, use smaller piping, tune specifically, etc...

i think they might do that...

"YES; we will be offering a few different turbo "Stages" with our single turbo kit, ranging from Stock Motor K04 style power with fast response, all the way to the ridiculous high revving Built Motor track monster"

sigh...this is just so tempting. I've never had gone through owning a performance car yet. Maybe I'll end up skipping the phase considering a few of my finance situation..

but for anyone else interested in doing a project...this would be great. Others have done:

- VR6 turbo
- 4.2 V8 swap
- 2.7t swap
- now a 2.8 single turbo setup

isn't the compression still an issue with the v6? i would imagine some companies will spring board and start making performance parts for the 30v. that would be the only way to make this kit a legit consideration.

With a proper tune and not being dumb with boost, compression will be fine. As for internals, the easy solution is to use S4 pistons (if you consider a bottom end build "easy"). What I'm curious to see is whether different 30v maps will be available for both a build with higher-strength internals as well as one to account for a true bolt-on setup using factory 30v internals, or whether the mapping will require a bottom end build.

A 2.8 with a built bottom end (non-DBW) should in theory be able to use the S4 tune right?
